Background
Peer Advantage Tutors was founded in August 2007 by Benjamin Kubic, a University of Maryland student who saw the need for affordable tutoring in the area surrounding College Park. Starting with a single tutor and client, Peer Advantage Tutors has now served over 150 clients and employed over 80 tutors. The company has also run successful courses preparing middle school students for the MSA at Benjamin Tasker Middle School.
In October 2007, Peer Advantage Tutors won the Pitch Dingman seed fund competiton at the R. H. Smith School of Business. Peer Advantage Tutors was also awarded money from the Impact seed fund for the company's commitment to helping the local community.
Our tutors have spent over 1000 hours with Prince George's County students. We served students in every age group from kindergarten through college and in almost every subject area offered by the school system.

Benjamin started at the University of Maryland - College Park in the fall of 2006 as a Government and Politics and Business double degree candidate. He is currently a member of the nationally recognized Hinman CEOs living-learning program for entrepreneurs; as a part of the Gemstone program, Benjamin is conducting research at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore to help improve the quality and efficiency of the emergency department.
